Many time we need to access our browser’s cache files for some need or make use of them. Every web browser stores it’s temporary files and other system documents on a folder on our hard drive. This folder is called cache folder. Don’t be confused with cookie. Cookie is another thing. When we need to go to our google chrome’s cache folder, we can go there by pointing the location on cache folder. I also showed how to save web based videos like youtube from browser’s cache folder.

By default the chrome’s cache folder is located at C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache . For my windows 7 my cache folder is at C:\Users\rijans\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache .

But is a mini handy tool developed by NirSoft which is named “Chrome Cache View“. Chrome cache view is a free portable tool which will directly help you to view chrome’s cache files. Due to portable, you don’t need to install it. Just run it and it will present all files exist in chrome’s cache folder.

The program uses the standard Nirsoft layout that displays the data in sortable columns. It is for instance possible to sort the data by name, size, content type, url or server time. The cache viewer has many options including copy selected files to anlther location of your hard drive and use them later.
